SMMS takes the widely used SMS (Spunbond-Meltblown-Spunbond) architecture and doubles the meltblown layer. That second meltblown layer delivers measurably higher filtration efficiency, superior liquid repellency, and enhanced barrier durability compared to standard SMS — without sacrificing the breathability that surgeons and clinical staff require during long procedures.
